Building a room before it exists

One question kept returning.

What would the perfect room feel like?

Not look like. Feel like.

Would people arrive early simply because they enjoyed being there? Would conversations become quieter when the lights dimmed? Would artists feel they could tell stories between songs without competing with the bar?

The more I thought about it, the less interested I became in finding an empty venue.

I wanted to build an atmosphere.

A listening room is not defined by its walls. It is defined by what happens inside them.

Long before I find the right building, the Lounge already exists in hundreds of small decisions.

The lighting. The seating. The sound. The welcome. The way drinks are served. The conversations people have after the final song.

Every detail says something about the kind of room this wants to become.

That is why I am not in a hurry.

The goal is not simply to open a venue. It is to create somewhere people genuinely want to return to.

In many ways, Indigo is already building that room. One playlist. One photograph. One story at a time.

The photograph above was not taken in a listening room. It was taken before a conference, while the room waited quietly for people to arrive. What stayed with me was not the event itself, but the anticipation. The feeling that a space can already have an atmosphere before anyone has spoken a word.

The best rooms do not come alive when people arrive. They invite people in long before the first note is played.

That is the room I am trying to build.
